La Pergola is a renovated barn conversion with an open plan kitchen/sitting room area. Split over two floors there is a master, twin bedroom & Jacuzzi bathroom on each floor, so La Pergola is the perfect villa for families or friends sharing due to the excellent layout offering lots of privacy.La Pergola is on two floors: Ground Floor - Kitchen, sitting room, master bedroom, bunk bedroom, shower room with WC and hand basin and a separate bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and basin. First floor - A master bedroom, the twin bedroom and family Jacuzzi bathroom with shower cubicle and basin and a separate WC. The 'home cinema' sitting roomRelax in one of the sofas and enjoy the 'home cinema' experience excellent for watching either sports, 'the tweenies' or a good old fashion film. Or simply just relax with a glass of wine and a good book (a huge library of excellent English books supplied including fiction, romance novels, biography & thrillers). If you prefer, plug in your iPod and listen to your favourite artist whilst enjoying some easy reading laying in the sun. The excellent variety of magazines will keep you entertained with favourites like Homes & Gardens, Country living, 25 Beautiful Homes, Marie Claire plus Hello, Ok and Heat to name but a few. The older kids will love the Wii console with interactive family games, whilst the little ones will love the toys, games & dressing up clothes and be delighted to find so many new games and toys for them to enjoy - Happy children = Happy parents! Not to be missed by the whole family is the huge selection of family/children's Videos. Over 50 classic family Disney, Warner bros, Fox & Universal top titles plus many many more. You will also find a comprehensive folder in the villa listing restaurants, activities and local events, as well as plenty of ideas for entertaining the children. There is a good selection of write ups on local restaurants that we recommend visiting with the kids and also some great recommendation 'just for the grown ups!' The well equipped kitchen....The kitchen is very well equipped including a large 5 burner range cooker, (great for when cooking for large numbers) a large farmhouse table, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, large fridge/freezer and ironing facilities. Those little extra's - You will also find kitchen essentials such as washing up liquid, dish cloths, bin bags, kitchen foil, cling-film, kitchen towels, salt & pepper pots plus various herbs at your disposal. We have also catered for the little ones too with child-friendly crockery & cutlery, a baby-bottle warmer, hand food blender, black out blinds, a microwavable bottle steriliser, a high chair and a pushchair (all included in the price). Additional equipment can be hired such as high chairs & travel cots if more than one baby is in your party. Air-conditioned bedrooms & bathroom arrangementLa Pergola has four air-conditioned bedrooms - two doubles, one twin and one bunk bedroom. The double bedroom on the ground floor has 15ft-high chestnut and oak ceilings and has a very light and airy feel to it. It is a delightful, sunny bedroom with double doors leading outside. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and hand wash basin. Opposite is a shower room with WC and hand wash basin. The double bedroom on the first floor is quite special - the furniture (all handmade and antique) was bought as a complete set from a large old farmhouse here in the Vendée. The ornate, hand-crafted bed looks stunning set against the buttermilk-coloured walls. The mirror on the wardrobe and the marble inlay of the two side tables finish the room off beautifully. The master bedrooms has en-suite bathroom which can also be accessed from the children's twin bedrooms (known as Jack & Jill bathroom). The bathroom has a Jacuzzi full size bath as well as separate shower cubicle and marble top hand wash basin. Also on the first floor is the separate WC with hand wash basin. The twin bedroom on the first floor has two adult-size, high quality divan beds, which can be made into one double bed if more than four adults are sharing. The bookcases are stacked solid with books and children's toys. The spacious bunk bedroom on the ground floor also has a toy-chest full of toys and board games - and there's lots of room to play! Freshly pressed 100% luxury cotton bed linen is supplied for each guest submitted on the booking form and left in the villa for your arrival as well as hand/bath towels for all guests. In addition, you can hire large 100% cotton towels for the beach/pool (saves that bit of extra room in the case!) We also offer daily maid service (at a supplement) so your beds can be ready for you to slip into after a hard day at the beach or round the pool! Just for the kids........We believe that your kids are probably our most important clients, so we intend to keep them as happy as possible so you have some time to relax. Terrace & garden areaLeading out of the double patio doors in the sitting room is a private small terrace/BBQ area with picnic table and benches, which is completely private and not overlooked. You can all eat together on the terrace, or the adults can relax eating dinner whilst next to them, the kids can enjoy the 'kiddies size' table and chairs for their own memorable meal time experiences. It is also the perfect spot to relax in one of the sunloungers whilst lunch is being prepared as it is completely private and not overlooked by any neighbour. You will also find a chimney style BBQ and a herb garden at your disposal for you to pick mint to enjoy your afternoon 'pimms' on the deck at 5pm! The shared swimming pool areaThe huge shared 12 x 6 metre swimming pool is surrounded by 150m2 of decking with lots of sun loungers. The pool has been specifically designed and built with children's enjoyment in mind and has both a SAFETY FENCE and a lockable child safety gate. (this gate has shared access with Le Palmier) for which the parents hold the keys. The shallow end is only 1.05m deep (i.e. shallower than normal), so young children can stand in the water easily. The pool has a large terrace & an additional raised decked area, which is shaded by a large walnut tree. Here there are café-style tables & chairs, a great place for the kids to play out of the sun. The large pool is shared between our 3 properties, Le Palmier, Le Pressoir and La Pergola so is a great chance for the kids to meet and play with new friends. Disabled accessLa Pergola has been specifically designed to allow easy access for the elderly or for wheel chair users. We have non-slip ramps for easy access, 1 meter wide ground floor internal doors, and a fully tiled wet-room with shower & WC on the ground floor.
